When I lived in Toronto (1972-75), I was deeply involved in the jazz scene. Ed Bickert. Moe Koffman. Dr. Music. Boss Brass. Many others. And I always thought Doug Mallory was an incredible talent. I still own & play Dr. Music II & Bedtime Story & am a big fan. Mallory's vocals are an amazing fit with Doug Riley's overall producing and playing. Also his Hendrix-style strat work was unusual in the Toronto scene at that time, but it's super interesting all these years later.

Hope you come back our way soon. You're a very talented guy. It's so nice to actually sit and listen to the story the song is telling...Of course your guitar playing is great as well. Health and happiness to you and yours....Hope to see you soon. We'll have you to the cottage for a barbeque and maybe a sail if the wind cooperates....

Nice sounds, nice songs, great voice. I had dug out my old Dr. Music albums for a listen and searched for you and Steve Kennedy as well as some other band members on line.
Happy I stumbled on your site, just sitting here and enjoying.... Thanks for then and now

I have been hearing your name from a friend of yours out here in Enderby. The songs are great and I am reminded of a time when quality live music was more the norm. I heard Dr. Music in Timmins, Ont. back in the 70's. Again, I enjoyed the songs!

Hi Doug, man it's been yrs. and I'm sure happy to see that you're still keepin' on. You're incredible as ever. I hear you on jazz 91.9 now and then, its always great stuff! I can't help but remember the old days when we first met and Peter S.,Brian H.,Charly E.,Tommy C. and yourself were together. Funk Festival was a magic time. I guess Tom is no longer here, miss him a lot as I worked many gigs with him in the niagara area. Just wanted you to know that at least some of the old crowd is still listenin'. Later man Albert

Doug, It was so awesome to get on your site and re-discover these amazing songs! Your voice (and guitar playing) are treasures and to hear "I Keep it Hid" with those sweet horns and harmonies after all these years gives me an indescribable feeling of joy. I thank you for that - keep rockin' it brother...

Well done, Doug ! It was quite a trip down memory lane with the Bedtime Story album. You've done a beautiful tribute to Doc.
And great to hear all your songs in one spot, with good sound quality.
Looking forward to future additions.
