The Slowest Train That Ever Was

No one knows the speed it does,
The slowest train that ever was.
It's 200 miles there and 200 miles back,
Riding the Dominion Atlantic Railway track.
A young lass, riding coach, watching the time,
Cried out, "What's wrong with this DAR line?"
"Conductor, Conductor, Lord, this train moves slow,
If we got off and pushed, would it faster go?
My husband, a Calgary lad, is waiting further up the track.
Pity me, by now he's sold the house and moved on back.
Conductor, Conductor, I feel really sick.
It's a miracle, why I can feel the little one kick.
Soon he'll be nuzzled, feeding at my breast,
How fortunate, the D.A.R. will give me time to rest."
"Dear, take no offense at what I say.
When you boarded, you were in the family way?
Pregnant, ma'am, when on this trip you came?"
"No, I wasn't, Sir, not when I got on your railway train."
No one knows the speed it does.
The slowest train that ever was.
